Fantastic Walk In Robe Design Ideas
Are you in the process of coming up with a walk in robe design to suit your new bedroom? Whether you have a small, medium or large sized robe, it is important that you have carefully assessed what you intend to use the space for and what you would like to include. Remember that the size will often dictate what can and cannot be included, so here are our design recommendations:
Basically, a small robe will allow you to enter and close the door behind you but not much else. The most it will offer you is a private space to change clothing away from prying eyes. There are generally three solid walls and one wall that holds a door; the centre should be left clear; and storage should be tackled vertically (try and place shelving all the way up to the ceiling and use hooks elsewhere).
A medium sized robe will offer you a little room to walk around and can be separated into different spaces. There should be room to add a small bench or other seating if you so wish (this can be helpful when putting on shoes). A shelving unit that is accessible from both sides could also be placed in the middle to hold odds and ends. The walls should be filled with shelving and drawers for your clothes.
A large robe will offer you plenty of space and is often nearly as big as a bedroom (sometimes it is even larger). The space is often separated into individual areas with windows or skylights for natural light, a vanity for the application of makeup and plenty of storage space. Some people even like to hang chandeliers for a touch of class. It can also be a good idea to install recessed lighting around the shelves.
As you can see, there are plenty of walk in robe ideas that you could incorporate into your own home design. It is important that you first determine what size your space is – small, medium or large. This will dictate the kinds of features that you can include in the space; regardless of whether you would like them or not, there simply may not be the space.
